Veneers are for people who have teeth that are damaged either by having them worn down or if they are chipped. These teeth covers are generally made of porcelain and are made to resemble white teeth when placed over the teeth. This can be a major advantage to people who have issues with getting their teeth white. As an alternative to crowns in many situations, these veneers can hide unwanted defects such as the damage due to an injury. Root-canal procedures can sometimes require these ultra-thin shells to cover up the results.
The ceramic versions require a mold to be taken of the teeth and then a laboratory will then fabricate a set of them, which can take a few days. They will then be used to help close up any unsightly gaps in the teeth and they can last for years. Veneers are generally used by most dentists, because they provide highly beneficial result.
